We are thrilled to share that The Green Hour, our community outreach initiative dedicated to nurturing a love for local biodiversity among school children, has been featured in the local newspaper Divya Himachal! The article highlights our recent program at Government Primary School, Ralli, where young students immersed themselves in the wonders of biodiversity.

Over a span of three weeks, nine enthusiastic children from grades 1 to 5 explored the world of plants through engaging, hands-on activities. With guidance from Dr. Preeti Saryan and Ms. Kunkit Dolma of the Saryan Vigyan Foundation, and support from the school's Maheshwar Eco Club, students learned about topics such as plant morphology, plant biodiversity, and conservation science.

One of the program’s standout achievements was the creation of a school herbarium, a collection of preserved local plants meticulously pressed and cataloged by the children themselves. This living archive now serves as a proud symbol of their curiosity and hard work. The initiative not only captivated the students but also left a lasting impression on us as well. “Their excitement and willingness to learn new things were inspiring,” shared Dr. Saryan. For students like Aditya and Krish, the program sparked a newfound interest in the natural world, igniting questions about the plants, trees, and wildlife surrounding their village.

We extend heartfelt thanks to teachers Ms. Sulakshni Devi and Ms. Surendri Devi, whose support was instrumental in making this program a success. Their enthusiasm underscores the power of community-driven education to foster a deeper understanding of science and conservation. This coverage reaffirms the impact of The Green Hour in nurturing curiosity and cultivating a love for nature and we thank Divya Himachal for showcasing our work. We are excited to continue empowering young minds and inspiring future environmental stewards.

Stay tuned for more updates on our outreach efforts, and if you’re passionate about making a difference, we welcome volunteers to help us expand our reach!
